Since beginning her career as a music educator in 2008, Melissa Beichner has taught students from newborns all the way up through undergraduate music education majors. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Mercyhurst University, her Master of Music in Music Education from Kent State University, and is additionally certified in the Feierabend Association for Music Education’s early childhood music program, First Steps in Music.
During her time in the classroom, Melissa was awarded the Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence, her choirs were invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and she had the opportunity to mentor many students and new teachers.
After leaving the classroom, Melissa started her private lesson studio and began teaching “mommy & me” style classes for infants and toddlers. She is passionate about early childhood music education, and loves to learn about the effect early music experiences have on children’s growing brains. Melissa launched Beichner Music Services in 2020, where she is able to share her early childhood music classes in an online setting where they are accessible for all, and she is excited to share her edupreneurial journey with summit attendees.
